I've seen a lot of conservative views on blogster since I joined, and I've come to wonder..is it a conservative aimed website?
This is just off the top of my head, so don't be offended if I'm wrong. ^.
But while I've seen many posts about the pitfalls of "liberals", I haven't seen many about the faults that conservatism has.
Personally, although I am a minor, I have liberal viewpoints on many issues. I am pro Obama, however I don't like any of the candidates that much. McCain is just going to keep us in the war! And who wants that??!?!
The Daily Show did a piece on a comparision between Bush and McCain, and there aren't that many differences. I understand that obviously the Daily Show is for entertainment purposes only, and they pick and choose what information to use on the show. However, there wasn't many differences between either of them!!
Who wants to be politically aligned with George W. Bush with his incredibly low approval rating!?!?
I'm not saying Obama is amazing either. I'm just saying don't bash liberals all the time.
See both sides. Excuse me, my liberal side is definitely showing here. :-P
I think moderates have got it made though. A little bit of both evens out and they aren't extremists in any way. *not that I'm saying that purebred democrats or republicans are extremists, because I'm NOT*
Yeah so I haven't put forth any concrete material in this article to sway anyone's opinions or anything, but I just thought I'd put it out there that neither side is perfect.
Political criticism is definitely positive for the nation because it brings out the negatives and positives to each political party.
My views on conservatives bashing liberals are* :
Conservatives are mainly the older crowd in our nation.
Liberals are the new wave of society. Yes, there are conservatives in my generation, but not as many as their have been in previous years. (I have not done any research on that. I could be completely off!)
Older conservatives don't like the younger liberals undermining their authority.
*these are just my opinions, I'm not saying that they're correct.
Yes I understand this isn't something I would normally write because it seems a little dry, and I don't like talking about politics to someon that I don't know very well. But If you don't like it, then voice your opinions :) Feedback and debate is healthy.

Heh -- I like your constant disclaimers ("I haven't done any research" "these are just my opinions"). It shows you're thinking with an open mind.
My musings: When I started college (two years ago) my freshman history professor told us he didn't like the terms "liberal" and "conservative" because it was too one-dimensional a dichotomy. I'm inclined to agree, and to this day I'm not exactly sure how to define the two.
I think you'd have to call me liberal, though -- whatever exactly that means. I'll be voting for Obama, and I've long parted paths philosophicall with the "conservative" Christian church I was raised in.
Could one draw correlations between being conservative and modern, and being liberal and postmodern? Or.. hmm... methinks that's still too narrow.

Me, I am a democrat, who thinks George Bush has single handily destroyed everything that the Reagan and Clinton ERA has built.

Although the editors of Propaganda Analysis, the journal of the Institute of Propaganda Analysis, Inc., didn't cite Korzybski's work in their 1937 article that includes a list of "the seven common propaganda devices," (1) Korzybski and the Institute were talking about related matters. The Institute's seven propaganda devices (name calling, glittering generalities, transfer, testimonials, plain folks, card stacking, and band wagon) are classic examples of the violation of the principles of general semantics.
But, that stands to reason. As Neil Postman points out, "propaganda" refers to a use of language designed to evoke a particular kind of response. (2)(If you are really intrested in the games people play, research general semantics)

u should read joezrepublican's articles and comments
oh no no no. It appears that you only read the title, which is misleading (my mistake, I didn't realize it until AFTER I posted it)
For the record, I'm a liberal. Well, I consider myself a liberal moderate if that makes any sense.
And furthermore, will you kindly NEVER compare me to him? Yes I understand that your simple comment wasn't exactly comparing me to him, but ehh I would rather not be assimilated with him in ANY way.
But thanks for reading :)
dont worry...i would never compare you with him...i am a republican; but not happy the way this administration has done things.
i personally dont think either party can do much to change the way things are going...but GOD can :)
yes I agree!
Partisan politics can get quite ridiculous at times, both parties have so many flaws but try to portray themselves as the one and only way to be!
and thank you fot that :)
